Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you play GRID 2045, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We only collect what the game needs to work, and we never sell your data.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following information:
- Account details: your survivor name, email address, and password, which is stored encrypted and never visible to us.
- Game data: your character, items, activities, event log, statistics, and achievements.
- Optional details: the country and region you choose to share for the leaderboards.
- Security settings: two-factor authentication, if you turn it on.
- Messages to us: what you write in the contact form, along with your name and email address so we can reply.
- Technical data: your IP address and session information, used to keep you logged in and to protect the game against abuse.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to run the game and your account, to show the leaderboards and your player page, to send account emails such as password resets, to email you news about the game if you have turned that on in the settings, to reply to messages you send us, and to detect cheating, bots, and other abuse. Our legal basis is to provide the service you signed up for and our legitimate interest in keeping the game safe and fair.
3. Analytics
We use Umami to count visits to the website. Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personal data; it only gives us anonymous totals, such as how many people visited a page.
4. Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the game to work, such as the session cookie that keeps you logged in and a security cookie that protects forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and game data for as long as your account exists. Some records are deleted automatically much sooner: your event log after a few days, the log of items received after 14 days, and detailed activity statistics after about a month, after which only daily totals remain. We keep messages from the contact form for 12 months, and they are also deleted if you delete your account. Replies we email you stay in our inbox.
6. Sharing your information
We never sell your data or share it with advertisers. Your information is stored with hosting providers that process it on our behalf and under our instructions, and emails, such as account emails and messages from the contact form, are sent through an email service in the EU. Your survivor name, level, and statistics are visible to other players on the leaderboards and on your player page. Your survivor name and XP may also be visible to all visitors, including those who aren't logged in, in the list of most XP in the past 24 hours on the home page and the login page.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. You can change your email address and location in the settings and delete your account at any time; your data is then permanently deleted. You can't change your survivor name yourself. To correct it, or for other requests, contact us. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority, which in Sweden is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
8. Children
The game is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the game changes. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the game or on the news page.
